Congo America is a book project that is still in the editing process. Photographed and researched with Lu and his family in Clarkston, GA, this project attempts to speak to the slow, repetitive, joyfully-punctuated rebuilding of a family life after being resettled in a 3rd country. Refugees from the DRC, Lu and his family traveled to Tanzania and then to the USA.
Photographing Photography is a book project in the works. In the eastern DRC, photographs are prized, and often lucrative items. These images explore photography's quotidien role in a space of humanitarian aid, conflict, and indomptable spirit.
